On the last week of July Loughros point Rowing club had the honour of hosting the Swift Irish Coastal Championship in Narin, Donegal.
This is the first national championship the club has hosted and we hope that in future years Narin will remain a core stage and attract National and International rowers. The committee of Loughros Point Rowing Club wish to extend sincere gratitude to a large volume of individuals who made the spectacular weekend of racing possible.
Firstly, we would like to thank local businesses for their continued support to the club year after year which aids events like this to occur. To our volunteers on the water and on land; boat men, safety crews, camera crew, umpires, race officials, commentators, beach masters, sound and office team. To those that helped in the lead up to the event by transporting equipment to the beach. To the women who ensured officials on and off the water were looked after and fed, we appreciate your generosity of time.
Thank you all for your efficiency, enthusiasm and professionalism across both days ensuring everything ran smoothly. Thank you for willingly giving your time and resources to join us in the lead up and also on both event days.
We truly appreciate our support.
To our wonderful youth athletes, many of you worked throughout the week in support of preparing for the event, we appreciate your willingness, friendliness and commitment. You represented the club with such kindness and positive sporting attitude and we feel extremely privileged to watch you all continue to grow as young athletes.
To our neighbouring and travelling clubs, thank you all for your support, attendance and positivity throughout the weekend. We appreciate many clubs travelled a long distance and we thank you for your support and hope you enjoyed the scenery of Donegal .
Thank you to Sharon Hurley, James Boomer and the championship committee for your support on the months leading up to the event.Lastly to the Swift Racing Team for your support and we look forward to hopefully working with you again in the future.
