Testimonials

Come and Join The Fun!

We take great pride in the number of young people in the club. In recent years new young members have competed at local and national level, and more that hope to compete internationally. Some of these young people have continued their passion for rowing in third level, and compete there too.

  • Training goes on throughout the year. When we are not on the water, we train indoors at our local Community Centre. The sessions are always a fun way to have a little competition among the members. These sessions are a mix of rowing machine training and circuits. There is also the opportunity to compete in indoor rowing competitions. Over the years the coaches have developed a wide variety of plans to have fun, get fit and ready for the water.

  • When on the water we have great fun too. We are amassing a variety of boats  from offshore to river

  • Regattas are a fun part of the rowing season, and members of the club have the opportunity to travel nationally and internationally when rowing in costal and offshore competitions. Local regattas up and down our stunning coast offer an opportunity to test skiff rowing skills, develop teams and meet rowers from all over the county.  Friendly rivalries combined with a sense of belonging to a wider rowing community make these events genuinely special occasions. It has also become a family day out/holiday for the parents and siblings of our youth.

  • As well as training and regattas the club are involved in and host community events. Fundraisers such as quizzes and card nights are always guaranteed to be great craic. Our annual Duck Race hosted  by the club, has become a major attraction for locals and visitors alike every August.

  • We take great pride in the number of young people in the club. In recent years new young members have competed at local and national level, and more that hope to compete internationally. Some of these young people have continued their passion for rowing in third level, and compete there too.
