With four boats and three superstar athletes, Loughros Point headed away to Athlone bright and early this morning.
First event was the boys J13 singles where Oisin Mooney put in an excellent race coming away with a well deserved second place.
Up next was the girls J14 doubles where Lea Molloy and Eva Shovlin teamed up and came away with a fantastic third place out of 19 entries.
Lea then went on to complete a fantastic race in the girls J13 singles placing second and adding another podium place to her tally.
Crowning a great day for the club, Eva Shovlin went out and rowed an incredible race in the girls J14 singles. After battling with bad weather conditions she managed to beat off the rest of the competition and end up with GOLD
This was the first river regatta for all three athletes and they managed to come away with some fantastic results. So fantastic that the regatta itself commented on it.
Also a mention to Brendan Shaw who unfortunately had to withdraw at the last minute.
All athletes, parents and coaches had a great day out and the club would like to thank Athlone rowing club for hosting such a great event and making us feel so welcome.
