Meet our International Rowers!

 Leah Gallagher:

    Age: 18

    Hobby: Irish Dancing

   Goal: To be recognized as a talented rower, not just by the public but by fellow and youth    rowers. She would also be honored to receive a Scholarship into college.

    Leah completed her Leaving Certificate in June and is taking a year out to focus on her rowing path.

Michael O’Boyle:

  Age: 17

Hobby: Carpentry

Michael’s goal is to become the best rower he physically can be and his dream is to row with University of Limerick in college.

Michael is in the middle of 5th year in secondary school

Cian Sweeney

Age :18

Hobby: Plays with Arranmore pipe band

Cian’s main goal is to win an All Ireland medal in the senior men’s single category

Cian just completed his Leaving certificate in June

Aoibhe Sweeney:

Age: 17

Hobby: Music

Aoibhe’s goal is to win a medal at the World Championships this year.

Aoibhe is currently in 5th year in secondary school.

Caitlin Ward:

Age: 19

Hobby: Irish Dancing

Caitlin’s goal is to row a race she is proud of at Worlds and be an athlete the younger rowers admire.

Caitlin is studying in Queens University in Belfast

Patrick Boomer:

Age: 28

Hobby: Horses

” My biggest goal in the sport – a hard question, I have always aspired for a International Medal and am still searching for it, but ultimately when I finish rowing, if I can look back and say i enjoyed the journey searching for that medal, then I will have achieved my goal”
